Downtown Chattanooga Food: Bluegrass Festival Edition

 

This weekend, September 19th and 20th, the IBMA Bluegrass Live! festival comes to Downtown Chattanooga! Whether you're a visitor looking for a place to take a break from the festivities or a local with a craving for an old favorite, you're sure to find some good eats downtown. These restaurants are all conveniently located beside the festival footprint.


Attack of the Tatsu

818 Georgia Avenue

This inventive izakaya and ramen shop serves noodles, katsu, and other creative dishes full of Japanese-inspired flavor. Walk to the back of the shop and you’ll find yourself transported to a vibrant, enchanting bar pouring up sake and Japanese whiskey. Open all weekend.

Community Pie

850 Market Street

This local pizza joint specializes in Neapolitan and New York-style pizza, handcrafted gelato, and craft beer. Their menu also features salads, pastas, and delicious garlic knots that you won’t be able to stop eating. Open all weekend. Enter via Market Street during the festival.

Mindy B’s Deli

828 Georgia Avenue

At Mindy B’s, creativity meets comfort food with killer handcrafted sandwiches (served with a loving side of snark). Try Mindy’s rotating specials and desserts—the peanut butter pie is our favorite! Open for breakfast and lunch on weekdays only.

Pickle Barrel

You can count on Pickle Barrel for great sandwiches and classic pub fare, plus craft beer and cocktails. Their rooftop seating area offers a view of downtown. 21+, open all weekend.

Taqueria Jalisco at Miller Plaza

850 Market Street

Here, you’ll find classic Mexican fare like tacos, tortas, flautas, and more with daily specials. Open for breakfast and lunch on weekdays only. Enter via Cherry Street during the festival.

Spice Trail

This spot offers vibrant modern Indian food with traditional roots. Try their wines, cocktails, and spirits, too! Open with a curated carry-out lunch menu Friday and Saturday, and dinner all weekend. Enter via Market street during the festival.

Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint

818 Georgia Avenue

Visit Jack Brown’s for 100% American Wagyu Beef burgers and a huge variety of craft beer. Try one of their freestyle burgers or daily specials. Open all weekend.
