Sips of Latin America

Free to attend! Come out for the final Saturday and explore the unique tastes of Latin America. Purchase a ticket to sample 10+ alcoholic and non-alcoholic traditional Latin American beverages from a diverse set of vendors.

Make sure to swing by the Food City, Hefferlin + Kronenberg Architects and TU Radio booths for some great swag and while there, thank them for sponsoring this day!

The Essentials are heavily influenced by Classic Rock, Grunge, Blues, and Southern Rock. Their danceable cover songs are well known by all who catch them live.

Aaron Raulston is from Jasper, TN and is a well- known and respected drummer in Chattanooga’s music scene. He is the drummer for the world-renowned and locally based progressive rock band, Glass Hammer.

Sammi Moore is a soulful, rock & country singer/songwriter hailing from Jasper, TN. She has performed up and down the East Coast from Key West to New York City in various venues and has opened for the likes of The Marshall Tucker Band, Chris Cagle, Big & Rich, James Otto, Craig Morgan, David Allen Coe, John Michael Montgomery, Exile, and The Kentucky Headhunters. She has also placed nationally in several singing and songwriting competitions, including making it to the top 12 in season 4 of USA Network’s Nashville Star.

Craig Philipp started playing bass guitar at the age of 14 in a band called Kashmir. Since then, Craig has played in multiple bands from Ohio to Florida, and just about everywhere in between.

Johnny G has played guitar on stage from coast to coast, North to South, Japan, The Philippines, and even Iraq and Afghanistan. His performance and studio experience speaks for itself on stage, and has performed with Jason Bonham, Vinny Appice, members of Rare Earth, Overkill, and former members of Slaughter, ZOSO, and others.

Friday Fun with DJ K2

Kenneth Worthen II, a Chattanooga native, is also known as DJ K2 with First Verse Productions. At the age of 12, DJ K2 fell in love with music which prompted him to join the school band as a tuba player. In 2022, music took him in a different direction and that’s when DJ K2 was born. With over a year of experience, DJ K2 came into the DJ scene leaving a huge impression and impact with his ability to cater to everyone. His unique style allows him to engage with all age groups. DJ K2 is sure to leave a lasting impression and create a fun atmosphere for all.

Swayyvo: Chattanooga, Tennessee has given rise to a host of hip-hop musicians and producers using the blood and sweat born from Southern experience and memory. Tackling the expanding passages of modern rap music with an eye toward its jazz, neo soul and heavy 90s hiphop influences, Swayyvo (born Jerod Morton) has been breaking down the barriers between various genres for years and reinventing his sound and ear consistently. Sought after for both his virtuosic saxophone stylings and his knack for arranging unique and complex beat-driven movements without sacrificing his own individuality, Swayyvo has given Chattanooga's hip-hop scene a sustained direction in which to grow. Swayyvo has been seen collaborating with brands such a NBA, NFL, Nickelodeon, Vayner Media, and dozens of artists such as K Camp, Yung Bleu, YGTUT, Project Pat, Sy Ari Da Kid, and Earth Gang.

Spend a little time with DJ Flow Eazy and it’s easy to see why she calls the studio her second home. Her family was floored by her talents of rapping and beat making at the early age of 13, having listened to her first recorded song and pledging their undying support ever since.  As a young child raised in Pulaski, IL and Dallas, TX, Flow Eazy honed her performance skills in local talent competitions and by banging out lunch-table beats while spitting sixteens – to the amazement of her male counterparts. Today, her charisma and unflinching go-getter attitude have garnered her a promising career as a DJ which she has done professionally for the last 8 years under First Verse Productions in Chattanooga, TN.

Friday Fun with DJ Tony Dub

We’re back for another day of Friday Fun! Open for play during park hours, all ages are welcome to take a spin with Los Trompos! Free to attend!

Chattanooga's very own, DJ Tony Dub, started DJing while he was in high school.  He didn't call himself a DJ at the time but he was DJing the dances, events, and proms at 21st Century Academy!  From there he developed skills and experience in several different facets of entertainment including playing instruments like the keys and guitar, producing music, recording artists, promoting parties, and more!  In 2011 he started his professional DJ career and founded First Verse Productions.  As he grew the business he started leading and teaching other DJs the art of Djing.  He has played at several night clubs and bars such as Blue Light, South Side Social, Chattanooga Cigar Bar, and more! Now, First Verse Productions is one of Chattanooga's favorite entertainment vendors chosen to perform for well over 150 events per year and rocking more than 1000 weddings!

About the Instructors

Gisela was born in Lima, Peru. Since a young age, she has always enjoyed dancing to Latin beats. It has always brought her to a happy place. After immigrating to the US almost 20 years ago, she kept up with her love for Latin music and continued to share her culture through music with everyone she met.

G2G Salsa was founded by Jesse Ramos in Destin, FL in 2009 and relocated to Chattanooga, TN in 2014. In 2020, G2G Salsa expanded into a new location in East Brainerd. Jesse and his wife, Ally, offer group and private Salsa & Bachata dance lessons. G2G Salsa also hosts a monthly dance social which is open to the community. Their mission is to build the dance community while promoting Latin dance and culture in the Chattanooga area.

Chris “DJ Kris Kash” Howell started his career as a professional DJ in 2018 with First Verse Productions.  He is known for smooth transitions music blends and mashups.   He has worked with several local businesses and venues providing them with a premium DJ experience. DJ Kris Kash has worked at Southside Social, Splitz  Alley, Chattanooga Cigar Club, The Blue Light, Volcano, Wknd Nashville, and The 107. DJ Kris Kash has done concerts and shows with Duke Deuce, Roscoe Dash, Tay Money and Drumma Boy. He was the headlining DJ at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards Experience.  DJ Kris Kash is currently on iHeart Radio on Thursday and Saturday on WKND Radio.

Culture & Creatives Day Featuring Luke Simmons & the Lovestruck

Free to attend! It’s all about having fun on Saturday! Grab your friends to take a spin! PLUS, experience and explore culture with a special presentation of “Viva Guatemala: A Journey Through a Land of Culture and Beauty" film!

Luke Simmons hails from the small town of Anniston, Alabama, right off the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains where he spent most of the time plucking on his acoustic guitar and contemplating on just how big the world around him was. As is the call of many impressionable young men, he felt burdened with purpose to share love and joy through his songs, so he set off from his home and took root in Chattanooga, TN where he met a plethora of talented musicians. He was swept away by the local music scene and from the smallest venue to the biggest stages and even to the elaborate festivals, he has given his all in the name of good music and good vibrations. And now he desires to place his name in that melting pot of music. Luke Simmons & the Lovestruck was born in late 2015. He along with his incredibly talented friends have begun marching from the practice rooms to the stages, wherever they are welcome to show people that no matter how confusing this world we all live in may become, love and a little bit of good music can go a very long way.
