SPROUTS PROGRAM

To support local restaurants and create more outdoor dining areas, River City Company partnered with the City of Chattanooga and Lyndhurst Foundation to create the SPROUTS program. Nine restaurants to date have received grants.

THE SCRAMBLE

The Scramble is conceived as a space that honors and builds upon the City of Chattanooga’s Art and Nature concept for the downtown area. It serves as a connection from Walnut Plaza to the Aquarium. Created by Artist Michael Singer.

Health & Wellness District

The Chattanooga Health and Wellness District study outlines a plan for the development of a first-class district that will serve as a new center of innovation, economic growth, and opportunity for the City of Chattanooga, Hamilton County, and the State of Tennessee.

Tomorrow Building

The site of the former Ross Hotel, the Tomorrow Building is Downtown living reimagined. Lead by Lamp Post Properties, this 39 micro-unit apartment development is the first co-living residence in the southeast with several first floor commercial tenants.

Majestic 12

Recognizing the need to keep moviegoers downtown, River City Company developed the state-of-the-art theater featuring 12 screens (3 with 3D), 2,500 seats and digital projection and sound. The theater is LEED Certified.

21st Century Riverfront

Under the leadership of then-Mayor Bob Corker, River City Company managed this project which developed nearly 130 acres on both sides of the river and connected all downtown redevelopment into a seamless network of attractions, commerce housing and entertainment.

Bijou Theater

River City Company supported the development of the Bijou Theater. The Bijou 7 opened in 1994 and was among the last breed of cinemas to be built prior to the proliferation of the stadium style seating design.

Redevelopment of Kirkman School Site

River City Company helped carefully plan and develop this prime 16-acre former high school campus near the riverfront into the Creative Discovery Museum, IMAX Theater, Residence Inn and AT&T Field, home of the Chattanooga Lookouts. The redevelopment of this site later accommodated the development of River Pier Landing condominiums, a parking garage and the sweeping green space known as Chattanooga Green.

Tennessee RiverPark

River City Company launched phase one of this 13-mile linear park that stretches along the Tennessee River with trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, fishing piers, wetlands and more.

WALNUT PLAZA

This reconfigured street creates a central gathering space as one of the most popular places downtown. The new plaza allows for a wide variety of uses including formal and informal gathering, performances, festivals, and people watching.

Business Improvement District

The Chattanooga Business Improvement District is a private sector initiative to improve a portion of Downtown Chattanooga with enhanced clean, safe and beautification services made possible by downtown businesses, property owners and homeowners.

The Block

The Block is one of the largest adaptive reuse projects in Chattanooga's history, turning the old Bijou theater into a vibrant urban centerpiece with a state-of-the-art 28,000 sq. ft. climbing and bouldering gym with a 11,000 sq. ft. dual art piece and climbing wall.

20th Anniversary of Nightfall

Marking twenty years since the original Nightfall Concert Series began as an effort to encourage families to spend an evening rediscovering downtown, This series is one of the key events River City Company facilitates to animate downtown.

Battle & Brown Academy

River City Company and local governments raised funds for two downtown public magnet schools, containing UTC early childhood centers, providing state-of-the-art learning communities for children who live downtown and children of downtown working parents.

Imax 3d Theater

River City Company developed this state-of-the-art theater that gave visitors another reason to experience downtown.

Riverset APartments

River City Company helped launch this multi-family housing complex that spurred a wide variety of housing in the downtown area. The first downtown housing development in over 20 years, Riverset was 100% occupied within eight months and helped prove a vibrant residential market existed.


PATTEN PARKWAY

Patten Parkway, now known as Patten Square, has been remade with brick pavers, parking, trees, seating, public art, and more. The new street recalls its history as a market square and is better suited for festivals, concerts, and other events.

Miller Park

Originally envisioned in the 2013 City Center Plan, the redevelopment of Miller Park was a $10.6 million dollar City of Chattanooga public park project in the heart of our city's core which now boasts the EPB Community Stage, a large lawn and a scalable rock outcropping.

Center Park

Center Park was downtown's community pocket park at 728 Market Street. This vacant lot was temporarily revived with sod, gravel lot and a Food Truck Court, and the space now holds a 10 story mixed use development.

Renaissance Park

Included in the 21st Century Waterfront project was this 23-acre park on the north shore of the Tennessee River across from Chattanooga's downtown business and tourism district provides recreation and relaxation.

Coolidge Park

River City Company helped plan this 13-acre public park that includes a carousel, interactive water feature, pavilion, canoe/kayak launch, green spaces and inspired more than 30 restaurants and shops.

TROLLEY BARNS

River City Company purchased the historic trolley barns and redeveloped the site that now serves as home to Big River Grille, one of the trolley barns' first tenants in this adaptive reuse development.

TENNESSEE AQUARIUM & Implementation of Ross’ Landing

River City Company developed the setting for the Aquarium and Visitors Center, as well as the Tennessee Riverpark, Riverfront Pier and shoreline greenway. River City Company also developed the site for this beacon of Chattanooga's downtown and riverfront renaissance, which helped to spur more than $500 million in new downtown development.
