Why can only Downtown Chattanooga businesses participate in this program?
As a non-profit supporting economic development in Downtown Chattanooga, River City Company has a defined service area (within the white line on the map). Additionally, studies have shown that COVID-19 has had greater impacts on businesses located in downtowns since stay at home orders mandated the closure of downtown offices. Although some offices are starting to reopen, businesses in downtown continue to see fewer customers than before Covid-19.
