Loop combines elements of the music box, zoetrope and railway handcar. Sit down inside the zoetrope, pump the bar, and make the image cylinder turn. The pictures will spring into motion. The images, tinted by a strobe effect, are reminiscent of the earliest movies. The speed of the animation, the frequency at which the light flickers and the tempo of the music are all determined by how fast you move the bar.

Inspired by some of their favorite musical influences, including Mumford and Sons, they use their unique sound, both vocally and instrumentally to share their passion for community and their commitment to making sure youth, especially those struggling with their mental health, feel seen, heard, and loved.

Ensamble de México promotes and celebrates Mexican culture and traditions in the Chattanooga community through dances from the states of the Republic of Mexico.

A 5-piece alt/indie rock band from the Chattanooga area. Isaac Lloyd, Gideon Lloyd, Ezra Lloyd, Taylor Lloyd, and Emmanuel Merryfield bring an upbeat indie sound that has been featured at Nightfall as winners of the 2023 Road to Nightfall. They regularly play at local venues like Hi-Fi Clyde’s.

Join in for this free all abilities class including wheelchair accessibility with instructor Beth Herring. Beth has a BFA in dance from SUNY-Purchase and is active in the dance community in Chattanooga, TN. She is a physical therapist and is Site Director at Ascension Living/Alexian PACE.

Soul Aerobic Line Dancing

Soul Aerobic Line Dancing is a group fitness class that turns dancing to hip hop and R&B hits into legitimate fun exercise for people of all ages.

At Rock the Riverfront, the group will show off a few of their rehearsed dances, invite everyone to join in on some classic dances that most people know, and then they’ll teach the steps to some of their dances so anyone who wants to can join in! Soul Aerobic offers classes and performs at events across the city.

A versatile performer, Neshawn is a singer of such genres as jazz, blues, classical, gospel and rhythm & blues. She is a frequent soloist in area churches. Neshawn has graced the stages of Riverbend, Nightfall, Levitt Amp Series and many other local festivities. In 2012 she traveled to Hamm, Germany where she performed a concert of jazz and blues to a sold out audience. Neshawn has also performed with the Chattanooga symphony on several occasions. Weather the Weather is a series of interactive art experiences created by 9 local artists from the Chattanooga area in collaboration with Art 120.  The theme of our performances is an exploration of what happens during storm conditions and inclement weather using visual art, sound, music, movement, and poetry. Our goal is to activate spaces, engage with people where they are, and bring people together under playful circumstances. Visually our group is inspired by surrealist artist Renee Magritte and street performance art. Our art is ever-changing, like the weather. Artist Weekend Featuring Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians

Impulse Seesaws Open for Play 10am - 10pm!

·The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians will showcase a variety of artist vendors with traditional and contemporary art including basketry, photography, clothing, copper and wood burning. They will also be hosting basket making, weaving, and carving demonstrations along with engaging participants in traditional Cherokee games.

Friday night will feature DJ Mike Key!

Saturday evening will feature Traditional Cherokee Dancing at 6:00pm, musical guest Luke Simmons and the Love Struck at 7:00pm along with a Storytelling around the fire by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians at 8:30pm!

Atsila Anotasgi Cultural Specialists:

Tristin Bottchenbaugh Dylan Morgan, Nola Teesatuskie, Lilyan Wright represent the Museum of the Cherokee Indian Atsila Anotasgi Cultural Specialists program. Their mission is to share aspects of Cherokee history and culture and they are very knowledgeable in traditional Cherokee arts, crafts, and weaponry, and storytelling.

Atsila Anotasgi (Fire Builders):

 Atsila Anotasgi, the Cherokee word for “Fire Builders”, formerly known as the Cherokee Friends group, was created in the summer of 2019. A Museum of the Cherokee Indians group which focuses on Cultural Preservation through reconnecting with their Eastern Cherokee heritage. All members are enrolled Eastern Band of Cherokee citizens from Cherokee, N.C. Atsila Anotasgi are a group of motivated, passionate, young, artists, storytellers, singers, dancers, researchers, Cherokee language learners, and knowledge seekers who have a deep desire to discover who they are. This group helps to educate non-indigenous and indigenous communities about Eastern Cherokee belief systems, concepts, song and dance, and traditions through lectures, dance performances, art demonstrations, and storytelling sessions. The Atsila Anotasgi serve their community first and foremost but also anyone who would like to learn more about who they are as modern day Eastern Cherokee people of the Appalachian Mountains and how we came to be and still remain here in our ancestral homelands.

A musical tribute to some of the most influential female vocalists in American Music in honor of Women's History Month curated by RISE Chattanooga featuring the voices and talents of some of our city's local artists!

March 26th: Neshawn Calloway and Sound Advice

Get ready to dance throughout the night! Local performers, Neshawn Calloway along with the Neo Soul band, Sound Advice plan to provide an evening of songs meant for you to move and groove!

Neshawn Calloway honored at Country Music Awards as Music Teacher Of Excellence 

 

Neshawn Calloway, a native of Olive Branch, MS, came to Chattanooga in 1994 to attend graduate school at UTC. Upon completion of her degree in 1996, Neshawn was hired at Chattanooga State as the coordinator of the music department. During that time, she conducted two classical choral groups, the gospel choir, and jazz vocal ensemble. In 2001 Neshawn became the vocal music director at Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts, where she conducts six vocal ensembles. Her ensembles have consistently scored superior ratings at regional and state festivals. Neshawn is a well known performer having appeared at Nightfall and Riverbend as well as performing with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera. As an artist, Neshawn has released two CD projects, the first entitled Make It Through, a worship EP, and Back to the Big 9, featuring the music of Bessie Smith.

Also, enjoy playing with a variety of oversized games along with shopping unique Chattanooga Artist Vendors!

Get Fit with Greg & More!

NEW DATE!

As part of the Rock the Riverfront month-long festival, Get Fit with Greg will feature a family fitness workout with T2 Fitness Personal Trainer Tobe Taylor and high energy music by The MillionDollaMan aka Keenan Daniels. The event is FREE and open to the public. It will feature free healthy snacks and beverages.

Free parking will also be available in the 3rd Street CARTA Parking Garage (between Chestnut & Broad Street). Participants must visit the River City Company welcome tent for parking ticket validation.

Background INFO: Local Chattanooga TV personality, Greg Funderburg, is equipping elementary children around the country with the confidence to be a champion for health and wellness at home and at school. Funderburg’s new children’s book Jeremiah's New Beginning uses a relatable and funny little boy to force families to take a close look at their lifestyle choices.


Also featured from 9am - 11am: Adventure Sports Innovation! They will be on site with electric scooter demonstrations and free rides!

Starting at 12pm: Operation Get Active will have their soccer field on site with free play for all!

Rock 'N Cheer for the Chattanooga Marathon

Impulse seesaws will open early at 8:00am! Come down to the Chattanooga Green to cheer on the Chattanooga Marathon runners as they pass for mile 3 and mile 17!

The MillionDollaMan - Keenan Daniels will keep everyone moving as he DJs that morning from the main stage!

Starting at 11am - 5pm, artist vendors, food trucks and bar with a variety of beverages will be open.
