Julia is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Communications. During this time she was also a member of the prestigious William E. Brock Scholars Program.

During the second half of her college career, Julia worked as a project manager for WayPaver, a startup innovation lab and unconventional talent agency, as well as for Lamp Post Group, a local venture incubator.

During this time, she also founded the Chattanooga Startup Awards, an annual awards ceremony held during Startup Week to recognize and celebrate the next generation of emerging companies and those that helped them to become successful along the way.

Prior to graduation in 2015, Julia began working for Bellhops as the internal operations manager. During her time at Bellhops, she established the human resources department, built internal controls, and maintained compliance in a highly regulated industry, all the while helping build a team from 30 employees to over 150. Julia was also responsible for maintaining company culture during her time at Bellhops, and helped the company secure a place in the top 5 on Entrepreneur’s 2015 Company Cultures list.

In 2017, Julia was offered an opportunity to work with Metro Ideas Project, a local non-profit urban policy think tank. After successfully guiding the Metro Ideas Project team through the completion of two major projects as project manager, Julia took on a larger role as the operations director. As operations director Julia oversaw all day-to-day operations, assisted in selecting future projects, maintained the course on all projects, and helped to build and maintain the vision of the organization.

Julia is also an instructor at Pure Barre North Shore and enjoys running and spending time outdoors in her free time.
