City Center Activity Abounds for 2019
City Center Activity Abounds for 2019

Whether you've checked out the new eateries on Cherry Street or hanging out in the West Village, there are new restaurants, great entertainment options and family friendly activities to kick off your 2019. Here's a few of our recommendations.

On the 700 block of Cherry Street, a new restaurant called The Mad Priest and a new speakeasy style bar, London Calling, have recently opened. Both offer exceptional cocktails and places to commune with friends. The Mad Priest also opens early for coffee, breakfast, lunch and small plates in the evening.

On the other side of the block at 728 Market Street, you can also enjoy a new eatery called Bantam + Biddy serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with Southern favorites, quick business lunch plates and lots of gluten free options. May we suggest the fried chicken & cheddar waffle or the roast chicken & vegetable soup.

Continuing on our tour of City Center's 700 blocks, the 700 block of Broad Street is also seeing an incredible level of activity. Kudos to the work of The Tivoli Foundation for bringing in such incredible entertainment to enjoy like upcoming Broadway shows The Book of Mormon, Spamalot and Finding Neverland and the new Bobby Stone Film Series with O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Despicable Me still to come on February 2nd and February 3rd respectively. Also, don't miss the recently opened Powell Market, a concept shop and creative market, located at 802 Broad Street.

And rounding out our tour of City Center fun in the West Village area, there is never a lack of activity or food choices in this special new section of downtown. Whether you're chowing down on pizza from Alimentari, sipping tequila at Citron Et Sel, weekend brunching at Old Gilman Grill, grabbing coffee at Peet's or taking in a drink with a view at Alchemy, your options are plentiful in the West Village. In addition to great eateries, you can find numerous events happening weekly including Ale On 8th, family friendly weekend laser shows and more. Follow the West Village Facebook page here to stay up to date on all the activities.
