The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera provides over 14 classical concerts annually including symphony and fanfare performances, two fully staged opera performances, and four exciting and entertaining Pops concerts. Each year, core musicians also provide education and outreach programs to over 30,000 school children, and bring comfort and healing to patients and their loved ones through performances in area hospitals. CSO's 2001-2002 season marks the 70th anniversary of symphonic music and the 60th year of opera in Chattanooga. Merged since 1985, the CSO is the first and only successfully combined organization of its kind in the United States. Robert Bernhardt is the full-time Artistic/Music Director and Conductor.
