Swingfest features an evening of music by four of Chattanooga's large swing orchestras.  The program consist of a cross section of traditional and contemporary arrangements of jazz and swing, including the popular music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Glen Miller.  Some of the bands also incorporate vocals into their repertoire.
 
The music appeals to a wide audience including families as well as several generations of people who now share a love of swing dance.  Held in Coolidge Park, this event is perfect for lawn chairs, blankets and family picnicking.

A wooden dance floor donated by The Colonnade will be installed in front of the stage to encourage dancing of all types.

The concerts also involve a select number of food and drink vendors for the convenience and comfort of attendees, augmenting the options already offered by the River Street merchants.
