RIVERFRONT / AQUARIUM AREA

Where Chattanooga began in 1838 is now the heart of its renaissance in the Riverfront District. Anchored by the Tennessee Aquarium, the district is a bustling center of museums, restaurants, movie theaters, stores and blossoming new residential developments on Walnut Hill. Chattanooga’s crown jewel is the 21st Century Waterfront Park that includes a marina, amphitheater, and walking trails with sweeping views of the Tennessee River. The Riverfront also provides multiple gateways to the booming Northshore District, including the Walnut Street Bridge, the world’s longest pedestrian bridge.

Always an area with very low vacancy rates, retailers have typically found it difficult to find available space in the wildly popular Riverfront District. With opening of the Majestic Theatre, 26,000 square feet of retail is available in the former Bijou movie theater space. Additionally, adjacent to the new theater is 30,000 square feet available for development.

CITY CENTER

The City Center is the hub of business and government within the region. Several corporate headquarters as well as numerous accounting, financial, and legal firms keep the district bustling. The most dense of all the downtown districts, the central business district has a large daytime population and has attracted several retail and residential developments including Warehouse Row, a 330,000 square foot mixed use development featuring unique dining and shopping destinations.

With the completion of the new Blue Cross/ Blue Shield campus on Cameron Hill, the City Center is poised for unprecedented retail opportunities. The ground floors of three significant historic buildings at the intersection of Broad Street and 7th Street are available for retail for the first time in decades. The Hub Building, the Tivoli Center and the Miller Brothers building combined offer over 40,000 square feet of new retail space in the City Center.
