This 26,000 square foot privately owned and maintained park was built to compliment the adjacent Miller Park. Miller Plaza opened in 1988 and was designed to have a more active use than its predecessor. In addition to a 5,600 square foot enclosed pavilion, a performance stage, two water features, seating and landscaping, the Plaza features two floors of mixed retail and office space for tenants. Development costs include land purchase and relocation.
Year-round activity helps to animate Miller Plaza, which is owned and maintained by the RiverCity Company. The Chattanooga Downtown Partnership provides programming for both the stage and Waterhouse Pavilion. Adjacent restaurants provide both indoor and take-out dining, and picnicking is popular at lunch. The ever popular Nightfall concert series which runs Friday nights - May thru September, and Rhythm & Noon concert series which runs Fridays at lunchtime - May thru August, draw more than 200,000 people annually.
