This project converted the old Chattanooga City Jail into the new City Council Building.  Consisting of over 15,000 square feet, the first floor contains the Council Chamber where public meetings are held, along with a committee meeting room and offices for staff.  City Council offices are on the second floor.  The project is located at 1000 Lindsay Street and was completed in January 2000.

The adaptive reuse of this older historic city-owned facility increased the number of seats for participants at public meetings from 50 to 140 and added a state-of-the-art sound system and improved meeting technology.
