Finley Stadium/Davenport Field is a 20,000-seat facility encompassing 35 acres of property in the South Central Business District of Chattanooga. It serves as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football complex and is made available for a myriad of local and regional sporting contest, entertainment, civic and community events. The stadium includes 32 luxury skyboxes and a Stadium Club. It is built on the site of an old paper mill, the Rock-Tenn plant, owned by Max Finley, a long-time philanthropist and UTC supporter.
The Stadium has helped revitalize a desolate section of abandoned industrial buildings, creating a clean new gateway into the city. Several new environmental measures help make this site special. Storm water is collected through permeable pavement in the parking areas and is then reused for area irrigation. A major solar collector installation is evident in the southern-most parking lot. The Division I-AA Football National Championship has been played here the past three years.
